I’m sure it’s driving you crazy, what exactly IS a puppy dragon? It all began with my totally awesome name. Tad Cooper is not my first name and a last name. I’m so cool that I have two first names. I was named for the mightiest dragon of all, Tad Cooper from the ABC show Galavant. I’ve never personally seen the show, but my momma assures me that Tad Cooper was the biggest, strongest, and fiercest dragon ever.
As a little puppy I really tried to live up to the name.

My younger version of a puppy dragon

Showing off my pearly whites in true puppy dragon style
Momma called this being a “puppy dragon”. I thought it looked pretty cool myself. I showed off my teeth all the time, rolling on my back, and wiggling around so everyone could see my agile abilities.
When my sister Tigerlily joined the pack it became a lot more fun to be a puppy dragon! Suddenly I didn’t have to make these totally fierce faces on my own. Together we made totally fierce faces and frightening sound effects! You can see us in action as puppy dragons on our Youtube channel. Beware: our battle cries may be a little overwhelming the first time you hear them. Sometimes my momma is on the phone when we’re being puppy dragons. I’ve heard a few people ask, “What is that?”. Yep. We’re that scary.
If I were to put an exact definition to puppy dragon it would go something like this: A ferocious creature recognized by both the intimidating nature of their call and the whiteness of their teeth.

Tad Cooper and Tigerlily – Puppy Dragons!
So now you know how to identify a puppy dragon! Please, my sister and I are professional puppy dragons and actually get along really well (it’s the only reason our fierce battle cries don’t send the other running). You can’t just toss two dogs together and expect them to be perfect puppy dragons – it takes practice and getting to know each other. Plus, I’m pretty sure you have to have a dog with a cool dragon name (like me) to get true puppy dragons.
